Why do we like this?
Jay Electronica works in mysterious ways. After a snippet of the track "Dear Moleskine" was leaked nearly three years ago, the full (?) version has finally made its way onto the interwebs this morning without much fanfare.
I could easily go into painstaking detail regarding the paradigm shift Jay Electronica has come to symbolize in music, but I'll keep it short. Suffice to say that Jay Elect has the currency to alter the rap game in ways very few seasoned veterans (and virtually no other "newcomers") do.
His lyricism is poignant, deliberate and skillful. His methods are unorthodox and his standards are unusually high for an MC in 2012.
