It's difficult to know where to start this post, basically because both Airliner and Jay Bharadia seem to like cloaking themselves in mystery and mystique. What I can tell you is that Jay Bharadia is a 'French Indian Beat Maker' and that Airliner is a NJ-based maker of "Lo-fi, Side-chained bit funk with lush vintage cream for the backward thinking individual."
The combination of two enigmas such as these has led to something rather special indeed, and despite it coming out 11 months ago, it seems to have slipped under every radar, Nasa's and even Pitchfork's! So it's with a certain hint of proudness that I can today share it with the world - or anyone who doesn't browse SoundCloud more than they should!
To me, it feels like a slightly less slumbersome Washed Out has crossed paths with J Dilla -- it's trippy, chillwave hip-hop crossover, and sounds a bit like everything while being totally distinct at the same time. While you listen to this, I'm going to try and find out a bit more about the only two people in the world making Howard Hughes look forthcoming.
