Why do we like this?

Jasmine Rodgers debut album Blood Red Sun drops next Friday, and in anticipation the talented musician has released two more songs from the record.

The tracks in question are the country tinged "Shaping Up To Be" and folksy "While You Lay Sleeping." While both tracks are great, I'm a big fan of the short but beautiful "While You Lay Sleeping."

Rodgers sings about watching her lover sleeping and the things she would like to do to them over playful acoustic plucking, highlighting her strong and calming vocal style. 

Rodgers' album is shaping up as quite the listen and you can check out the other single releases here.

Blood Red Sun is set for release Friday October 28.
