Well, hello there! Oliver Nelson has used a bit of french funk flare to turn Janelle Monáe's "Tightrope" into one hell of a dancy track.
The original song was released in 2010 as the first single off Janelle's album The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III). Premiered on Pitchfork, the track was notable for the inclusion of Outkast's Big Boi, a huge endorsement for Ms. Monáe, who at the time was still establishing her brand.
Flash forward 3 years to Oliver Nelson's remix, and i think we've got a revitalized and hella catchy single here.
