Why do we like this?

Hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa, James Deacon is a multi-instrumentalist whose debut single, "Not Givin' Up," is an inspiring release with a positive message.

Having overcome a life threatening injury to his hand, Deacon is making the most of his second chance and using music as a way to express himself. 

A genre bending single incorporating pop, soul, hip-hop, and indie-rock, "Not Givin' Up" is Deacon's "fuck you" to those higher-ups or fakers who try to keep you down. Despite the subject matter there's a feel good vibe to the track, with Deacon singing and rapping over the tight production.

Deacon is certainly one to watch in 2019 and I can't wait to hear what he serves up next.
