James Chatburn is a soul singer, songwriter, producer and all-around groove maker. His style is cool, calm and collected with an approach that, although soft, speaks quite loudly. Having recently relocated from his native Australia to Berlin, Chatburn has been very busy making new music and very soon, he'll be releasing his EP, The Singles.
The release of the EP will wrap up a four-song collection methodically released in -- you guessed it -- singles over the course of the last year. Each track thus far has shown a wide range of musical approaches, yet was all together with his smooth vocals.
"Creator" was co-produced with UK soul phenom Jordan Rakei. It is fervent and sleek, with an R&B-lead guitar riff and head-nodding bass line. Bright and gleaming keyboard layers amazingly well with the deep jazz piano throughout the track. This is a great jam and one that is showcasing Chatburn's style really well.
Keep an eye on this guy, he's got the potential to be a big deal.
