Why do we like this?
The project of Perth's Scott Mellor, Loston is one of Australia's newest EDM exports, already being compared to luminaries such as Flume after only starting up two (!) weeks ago.
His latest offering is a remix of James Blake's "Retrograde," which starts off as a beautifully minimal affair before erupting into a thumping, dance frenzy, complete with pulsating synthesizers, hand claps, and heavy bass, while somehow still remaining faithful to the original song.
With an as yet unreleased track due out on Steve Aoki's label, Dim Mak Records, Loston is certainly one of the most exciting members of Australia's EDM scene. Stay tuned.
