Why do we like this?
The last year has been the exact opposite of what many people expected for post-dubstep poster boy James Blake. Instead of progressing down the warped R&B/dubstep line he had started on, Blake veered off toward singer-songwriter territory.
However, Blake has decided to end 2011 how he started it with the release of "Love What Happened Here," a track we first heard almost a year ago on Benji B's Radio 1 show. Fast forward 11 months and Blake has presented the finished version, a song much truer to his original works such as "CMYK."
For a large proportion of Blake's fans - certainly pre-sound of 2011 fans - this is a welcome return, and he proves that nobody else can do it quite like he can with another boundary pushing piece of electronic music.
