Recorded and engineered a few cities away from where I grew up in Clearwater, FL, Jake Herring's newest track "Little Mess" is a perfect metaphor for my (and many others') existence.
It's nice to receive records like this when I'm feeling a little homesick, and maybe a little bit lost in life. Jake describes his intentions perfectly below.
"The whole song is contradictory. There’s lines that should be placed in the first verse but are in the second. That’s the whole point. I love having hidden meanings, but still giving away the core point of the song.
My Little Mess. Well, thats basically my life and how I feel about it. No matter what I’m doing, its always a battle between odds. Whether good or bad, there is always an opinion to take in, and I respect that."
