Sydney duo Jagwar Ma (Jono Ma and Gabriel Winterfield) are quickly developing into one of the worst-kept secrets in the music industry. Fresh off 2012, which saw the release of their hugely popular debut single "Come Save Me," they've begun this year with the release of another track titled "The Throw." Previewed as "the hottest record in the world" by BBC1's Zane Lowe on Wednesday, it was self-produced and mixed by Ewan Pearson (Chemical Brothers, the Rapture, Pet Shop Boys).
A seven-minute psyche/acid house journey, you'd think "The Throw" might be a difficult listen. But in fact, Lowe's comments are pretty close to the mark, and this track will surely increase the band's growing legion of supporters. Have a listen and find out why NME stated that "Jagwar Ma might just be one of the best new bands in the world"
"The Throw" and bonus track "Four" will be available on iTunes on February 1, 2013 (through Future Classic).
