You're unlikely to find a more memorable introduction to an artist than the one which accompanies Jae Tyler's debut single "Life As A Wall":
"Jae Tyler became transfixed on learning to play guitar at the age of 9 after witnessing his dad learn a song by ear that he'd heard on the way home from the family’s bi-weekly buffet night at Pizza Hut."
And once you hear the track and watch its accompanying visual (full of gold spandex, transvestism and a kaleidoscope-lensed dance troupe) you begin to get drawn into Jae Tyler's wonderfully bizarre world.
"Life As A Wall" is a glorious chunk of indie guitar pop, complete with hip-shakingly bouncy drums and guitar riffs - all underpinning the singer's near existential musings on life, and how to avoid living it "like a wall."
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on future releases from Jae Tyler, he's one of the most intriguing and special artists to emerge this year.
And for all you London folk, Jae Tyler is playing a show at the Shacklewell Arms on 1 December. You can find more information here.
