Somewhere deep in a valley of the crunchy guitar sound waves on "Unspun" is a village of angsty teens. The population of said village is comprised of the part of our youthful souls that have floated off while the rest of our psyche placidly moves on towards adulthood. Down there in the valley, anxiety, fear, dread, and worry are the water, air, and fire that fuel our teen spirits. Which is why, if you listen closely enough to jackie's latest, you can actually hear yourself screaming.
There was one aha moment that for me is worth highlighting. It was finding out that the trio is from Toronto, which I assume is the reason that frontwoman, Jackie Mohr, pronounces "jealous" the way she does. Otherwise, it's just straightforward fun. The band don't want their sound put in a genre-box, but as Jason pointed out, this one has a very Silversun Pickup feel to it.
Enjoy.
