Happy Black Friday (a few days late), rap fans! Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole have dropped one new track apiece. They're both called "Black Friday," they're both remixes, and they're both really, really good.
Released and announced in tandem, J. Cole's "Black Friday" is an aggressive, proud freestyle over Kendrick's "Alright," while Kendrick returns the favor with fire over J. Cole's "A Tale of 2 Citiez."
It's actually pretty strange to listen to an instrumental I've heard so many times, that I'm SO familiar with like "Alright," but with a completely new and different tone and flow. J. Cole absolutely delivers; it's a really slick listen.
The pair have teased a collaboration for ages; let's hope this is just the beginning. Consider these lines in Cole's final verse:
"Dreamville in this motherfucker
Top Dawg in this motherfucker
When you and K. Dot shit dropping?...."But this February,
bet shit get scary when I fuck around and drop... *censor sound*
