Shouts to Stefon, but Island Apollo is perhaps one of LA’s hottest bands to watch.The new single "Hold It Down" is produced by Eric Lilavois (Saint Motel, Atlas Genius). You may have hold on a Sprint commercial and thought: "What's this?" This. This is it.
The song's about insatiability, and perhaps more broadly discontent -- never feeling like you have enough in life, wanting more in a relationship. So while it's got a pop exterior, there's something eschew beneath giving the drums, layered vocals, upbeat guitar and synth bass riffs meaning. What is the *it* we are ultimately holding down, anyhow?
"Hold It Down" was recorded in Seattle at the famed London Bridge studios.
