Why do we like this?
Pietro is Irkid (one half of Go Hawaii). He has just released his first EP, Kohola, under the aforementioned moniker. The four tracks that constitute the EP are layered beautifully and give out a feeling of exploratory wonder and a child-like sense of curiosity. It’s quite pleasant.
The last and shortest of the quartet of songs is "Akureyri Shore." The title is in reference to the northern Icelandic city. The melody has a slow, but, not at all boring pace, it progresses and changes around a constant and titillating sound, that starts almost at the first-minute mark, and then we hear it throughout the rest of the song. The first fifty seconds feel like its preparing, setting up what will be this gorgeous song.
Enjoy.
