Why do we like this?

When a band has been together for a considerable time, they tend to experiment and try new things. After all, without this evolution, they may end up "boring."

Other bands, no matter how old they get, choose not to change their sound. Why fix something that isn't broken?

In a very "self-aware" manner, Interpol seem to have taken the latter path. "Ancient Ways" is true to its title: tried, true and safe.
