Andrei Eremin is one of the least recognized yet most important members of Melbourne's small but thriving electronic scene. As well as making his own music under the moniker Ktsche (pronounced "kitsch") Eremin is an accomplished studio engineer, already having mixed and mastered records from Indie Shuffle favorites
Chet Faker,
Rat & Co, and
Oscar Key Sung, among many others.
With his remix of "Mine's Here" (full title: "Mine's Here or My End's Here or Nineteen") by I'lls, Ktsche steps out from behind the mixing desk to deliver seven minutes of perfectly executed off-kilter beats, brooding vocal samples, and soaring synths, taking all the textures from the original and turning up the heaviness.
With more equally brooding, dance-worthy tunes up his sleeve and a collaboration with
previous Song of the Day artist Fractures on the horizon, Ktsche is certainly set to make his mark in 2014.
