UK artist Seamus Malliagh, better known as Iglooghost, has been one of my favorite artists to watch recently. I first discovered him in January of last year, when he released the Treetunnels EP with Error Broadcast, and put out a zany, self-animated music video for "Peanut.smoker."
Along with that, he teamed up with Bay Area rapper Mr. Yote to merge together as Yoteghost. And with the help of Activia Benz, they became the first-ever artists to release an EP in balloon form.
His next release will be with Brainfeeder — an EP that tells a story as if it was created after smoking massive rips of DMT at a Flying Lotus concert. Read what Malliagh said on the concept below:
“The EP is a story about a gelatinous worm-shaped creature who wears a witch hat called xiāngjiāo. He/she is really sad because his/her existence consists of infinitely being blasted through endless wormholes into different worlds that don’t make any sense – full of floating fruit and pink mist. He/she has a voice played by my little sister but sometimes my dad. He/she is perennially sad and terrified because it doesn't make any sense why he/she was randomly born into this existence, but he/she is also shit scared because being shot at light speed through wormholes is probably f**king terrifying.”
