Why do we like this?
Everyone's favorite Australian-female-rapper has been up to some serious "Work."
Iggy Azalea first caught our attention a while back with her earmuff-inducing song "Pu$$y," which excited some and made others feel as though all hope in humanity was lost. Not long after came her first official mixtape, Glory, which was fairly lackluster, but the effort was appreciated nonetheless. These days, we are beginning to see some of that big-label influence as Grand Hustle's female soldier gets after it on this new single.
"Work" bumps. Iggy's fast flow, which at times resembles a female Yelawolf, is almost as ridiculous as her booty. What stands out most on this song, though, are the lyrics: super tough and pretty damn inspiring. A constant reminder we hear throughout is that she had "no money, no family" when she was "16 in the middle of Miami."
Iggy's a success story, a diamond in the outback if you may. Her unique style, vogue-esque looks, and the enigmatic nature of her music has taken her very far. There are many out there who are quick to express their distaste in Ms. Amethyst Amelia Kelly, but by the sound of this new track, it seems she's been dealing with hard times and haters her whole life. Well, by the looks of it, I'd say Iggy is starting to get the best of 'em.
