Usually long distance relationships don't work, but that cannot be said for this extremely talented duo. Formed in early 2012, Tim Butler (London) and Tom Parry (Amsterdam), aka Televisor, joined forces with the pure intention of re-igniting the disco flame in modern dance music. Personally, I can't get enough of this revival, so it is with great pleasure that I premiere their latest remix of Icona Pop, "It's My Party."
When Icona Pop sampled the 1963 classic by Lesley Gore to create "It's My Party," I thought that was the limit to which the original track could be resurrected. However, Televisor has proven me wrong.
They've upped the tempo and put an undeniably enticing nu-disco spin on the track, injecting it with a fusion of electronic and funk elements. Their mantra, "music is the embodiment of emotion through sound," captures the essence of this track completely. This remix exudes feelings of joy.
