Why do we like this?

Gotta admit, I'm a sucker for sunshine-y synth pop any day of the week. It just never gets old to my ears.

One of BC's best in those regards is newcomer Icelandia, who dropped their fetching debut single "Magic" last June, which made its way to a very respectable (nearly) 30,000 plays since then.

We've been waiting ever since for a follow up. "Paper Suns," which appeared with no warning today on their SoundCloud, does not disappoint. With shimmering vocals, a groovin' synth line and intriguing lyrics, this is one that'll dig itself into your brain and settle in for the long winter, a lasting reminder that summer is a-comin'.

Like their last tune, it finds that sweet spot between being a ballad while keeping it fun and danceable. Icelandia's debut EP is scheduled for a spring release. Enjoy!
