Why do we like this?

Ibeyi is comprised of twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz. Daughters of famed conguero Miguel 'Anga' Diaz, best known to some for his participation in Buena Vista Social Club, these ladies have been raised in a robust musical lineage.

The 19-year-old prodigies are readying a debut for XL Records and the haunting but infectious "River" is the first taste. Their cherubic appearance and young age bellies the potency of their message. The memories of water as baptism, as treacherous passageway for the transatlantic slave trade, and the metaphor of Bruce Lee's spiritual malleability are all invoked in less than four minutes.

The video is a trip, too. Don't sleep on this dynamic duo!
