The songwriting prowess of Huron John is much more mature than his age would suggest. At a mere 20 years of age, the Chi-town native is a young professional in his craft. I think this line in Huron John's Spotify bio describes the overall Huron John essence quite succinctly, "Huron John is creating a universe of beautiful-digital-solace for a new generation."
As a newly frequent visitor to this universe, I find it rather pleasant as I meander my way through unique sounds and colorful lyrics. "She dumped me over breakfast. I was crying maple syrup tears" -- I enjoy this line for the visual it brings along with the surprisingly playful feel it gives despite its melancholy topic. In my opinion, it is difficult to tightrope the delivery of a lyrical metaphor in a way that isn't too cheesy or feel too forced but John does so in this instance with great aplomb.
Bravo, John.
