I admit to not knowing much about Melbourne trio Huntly until hearing "We Made It," but I'm now hooked. I love my music a little different and Huntly provides that with this mind-blowing track.
"We Made It" is a hypnotic concoction of UK two-step and experimental R&B sounds, anchored by the delightfully emotive vocals of Elly Scrine. The uplifting rave beats lay the foundation for Scrine's manipulated vocals, ranging from naturally intimate to mechanical, giving "We Made It" a unique and alluring quality.
To me, this is pop music at its most creative. "We Made It" has all the hallmarks of what I think makes music great, and I can not wait to hear what these guys release next.
The trio's debut EP, Feel Better Or Stop Trying, is set for release this coming May.
