Why do we like this?

I listened to Humans' newest single, "Mon Ton Ton 2" around three times before I figured out what it reminded me of -- the chorus of Hot Chip's single "Ready for the Floor." Hot Chip has a faster beat and more defined vocals, but the similarity is there nonetheless. And it's not a bad thing.



We loved Humans' most popular single, "Avec Mes Mecs," and featured an interview with the duo last year. Since October 2010, the Vancouver-based indie dance band has been recording and playing live gigs, releasing "Mon Ton Ton 2" a week ago.

Robbie Slade (firefighter-turned-folk musician) and Peter Ricq love partying, and it shows in their music. The song might not be "Ready for the Floor" material just yet, but it's getting there.
