Why do we like this?

Hudson Mohawke is on a tear right now. The UK producer's Chimes EP is out September 29 on Warp, making him one of the blogosphere's most-hyped artists of the past two months.

Dwayne, one of our senior staff writers, has shared both "Chimes" and "Brainwave." While I can't say "Chimes" is my favorite instrumental of 2014, I'm mightily impressed with the ethereal, Flying Lotus-like vibes on "Brainwave."

"King Kong Beaver," written in 2010, makes its first public appearance on Chimes, according to SoundCloud. After several listens, my hope is a dozen more tracks like this surface soon.
