Hey, Let's Leave This Town

Hovvdy jumps to the top of my alt-rock list with their indie-rock travel log.

A narrative as old as time — "let's go for a ride" — gets rejuvenated and readjusted into a wild and whispy alt-rock sound that not only sounds intimate but also vast. "Town" does that one thing that I love so much from these 'journey-esque' indie tracks. It takes its sound and its noise and pushes it to the sky, it feels like they're shouting into a desert — a vast open space.

Not only does it satisfy that little indie-rock scratch in your ear, but it also takes you on a sonic journey that I wanted to loop into the night.
