Why do we like this?
It's only a matter of time before Japan's music scene opens the floodgates on the indie rock scene. With songs such as Hotel Mexico's "Dear Les Friends," I'm all for bringing on the rising tide.
While the song itself may start out in a somewhat typical manner, everything changes around 2:30 as the boys from Kyoto, Japan flip things on their head. I've always maintained that I'm a complete and utter sucker for bridges within a song, and as such they've managed to win me over pretty easily here.
For those of you keen on keeping up with the band (or brushing up on your Japanese), you can check out their website here.
