Europe, prepare yourself -- two of my favorite Australian acts are heading your way very shortly. If you've followed my writing over the past year or so, you would have noticed that two of my most blogged about artists are Melbourne acts Rat & Co and Hoodlem. Both are strong representatives of Australia's booming electronic scene, and they'll be playing a run of shows together through October in England, France, and Germany.
To celebrate their tour, Rat & Co has put together a tasty remix of Hoodlem's incredible single "Firing Line." Adding Rat & Co's typically haunting, atmospheric production to Hoodlem's pop-influenced styling isn't an obvious fit, but the result is fantastic. Imagine putting Banks' vocals over a beat created by Tycho or Boards of Canada -- it might sound something like this.
