A few months ago, we premiered a new track from HONG HONG KONG KONG (HHKK) called "Heidi's Moon Stomp." HHKK is a side project from John Dragonetti, one-half of indie rock band The Submarines. But I'm starting to think that this should become a full-time gig with the material he is pushing.
Today, HHKK premieres another track with Indie Shuffle, "A Truth Is Gonna Be Revealed." It picks up right where the weirdness left off -- in a good way. The new track starts off confusing your ears as if you are being warped around the sci-fi zone, but hang in there, you will be transported to a place with warm and fuzzy psychedelic guitars.
Dragonetti shared:
"I was penning some tracks for a Diablo Cody film when I came up with this fuzzy little number. Classic glam-rock shuffle...channeling Morphine and thinking about Mark Sandman's gentle scolding to me about minimalism. "Brood on that for awhile" he said. Not sure that I ever learned the lesson.
As the track progresses, you are sucked in like a tractor beam bouncing to its groovy melodies and chorus. Flat out, it's a hard song not to enjoy, even with its level of weirdness.
