Australian duo Holy Holy is set to release their debut full-length album later this month. New single "Sentimental and Monday" is the first track off a killer of a record, showing off an softer and, yes, more sentimental side to the rock band.
I've already written about their first single for 2015, "You Cannot Call For Love Like A Dog," and if you liked this track then I'd highly recommend giving that a listen, too.
Vocalist Timothy Carroll's melody really resonates on this one. The melody is fine and delicate, and it intertwines beautifully with Oscar Dawson's guitar layers. "Sentimental and Monday" is sprawling, wild and progressive, with an inviting and down to earth air of nostalgia. And let's not forget about that immense, distorted guitar wail towards the end -- Holy Holy's guitar solos are my favorite part of their sound.
Holy Holy's album When The Storms Would Come is out on July 24.
