Back in May of 2019, Holy Hive, a Brooklyn-based soul-funk band, releasedHarping.This EP featured classically trained harpist, Mary Lattimore and singer-songwriter SASAMI. The third song in it is "Ice Dreaming" and it's gorgeous.
On December 16th, it got a fantastic rework from Victor Axelrod, who you may know as Ticklah (Homer Steinweiss, drummer and producer, calls him one of his favorite artists on their bandcamp's EP page). It's the same song while having a different feeling, it even has the courtesy of setting a tenuously different tone from the beginning. Instead of starting with the vocals right away like in the EP, this has a little intro that works the vocals in smoothly. This mix is not an acoustic version or a deconstruction, it is more of a mellow, almost trance-imitating rendition of itself.
And, of course, it has a very amicable and colorful video to go with it.
