A little over two years ago, two guys from Brisbane named Ryan and Matt gently nudged an EP called Drifting into the open waters of the world. Like a heaven-sent message in a bottle, people found it and held it close, appreciating its full-hearted serenity to the tune of millions of streams across all major platforms. I was certainly one of those people.
Going back to it repeatedly over the next year became therapeutic for me, a way to flood my brain with the undisturbed beauty of coastal sunsets on demand during a difficult transitional period in my life. There's a grounded comfort in their sound that just simplifies time and space, each song seemingly able to bring the world to a halt for a few golden minutes.
Safe to say I was thrilled to see "Coastline" surface, (alongside a new EP announcement, no less), a new single bursting with warm acoustic colors and pleasantly wandering daydreams inspired by a well-traveled hiatus. Let it take you "far away to a sunny place," where the soul is settled and the heart is balanced by the peaceful swell of the seaside. This one's more than worth the wait.
Wanderlust arrives February 3rd, 2017.
