Why do we like this?

New track by The Avalanches? You'd be forgiven for a making a quick judgement from the opening bars of Holiday Party's debut.

Brewing straight out of the sunny city of Brisbane, they've been collaborating on music projects for yonks. It took for Luke McDonald and Mel Tickle to join forces at the many house parties that go in the area for this beauty to be conceived. 

Chilled, slightly-raspy vocals sound divinely sedate in the mutli-layered psych meets indie production on their debut "I'm Still Here". It may be heading to the middle of winter in Australia, but this sounds like a pure sonic essence of summer.
