Why do we like this?
A week after their first release "Now I Want To," caravan-residing sisters Georgie and Annie, known as Hockeysmith, have unleashed their official first single, "Let's Bang." At just under seven minutes long, "Let's Bang" is an epic voyage through melodic guitars, hazy electronica, and blissful vocals.
Opening with a guitar riff recalling 80s Madchester, the duo's delicate vocals swell over the lo-fi hush, before fading into nothingness after a minute. This is where things get interesting. While the guitars return, keeping the moody melody, the percussion builds as jolts of electronics punctuate the track. The sisters' dreamy harmonies also take center stage, forging an otherworldly atmosphere as "Let's Bang" fades to its conclusion. Magical stuff.
