Exhales.
Hello to the written word and the melodic sound. I've missed you. Please stay a while.
The distance feels lengthy since I was last able to squeeze joy from writing and music. It happens sometimes, right? We lose touch with the flames of that which we love. The embers always remain, however. These embers have been sparked back to life by this gorgeous Friday evening, my chilled glass of Amarula, and hockey season's "Bat House."
Written from the POV of a bat, the song talks about human-caused disasters, ego, and billionaires' greed. Though it sounds like my POV at the bottom of this glass or at the end of something rolled and lit.
"why you stumbling around?
clinging to anything
we’ll be getting by
flying high all night"
The lyrics are beautifully obscure and in so doing, many listening ears will be able to glean some meaning relative to their situations...as I hope you can do with these words here.
Cheers to Fridays, cheers to good music, and cheers to bats — why not, huh?
