High Dive Heart is husband-and-wife duo Jason Reeves and Nelly Joy, both Grammy-nominated songwriters.
Their album, Grunge Lullaby (out Friday), is mellow and mature -- but clearly intended for a reformed, previously devil-may-care crowd. The concept is nifty: a collection of nine reimagined classics by Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc.
The big single, obviously, is "Smells Like Teen Spirit." At its best, it evokes the tender qualities of Patti Smith heart wrenching cover version of Nirvana’s defining hit.
