Why do we like this?
Way back when, I stumbled upon two remixes of Metric by Cosmonaut Grechko that absolutely stopped me in my tracks. The first was "Collect Call," which features a beautiful intro that quickly gives way to stuttering electronic manipulation. The second was of "Gold Guns Girls," which also starts off at a mellow pace, but ultimately gives way to something much more fun.
The formula seems consistent with this remix of "Cinema," a track by Japanese producer Hierophant Green. There's a slow, melodic and dreamy build-up that eventually introduces vocals reminiscent of Miami Horror. In the end, however, it's all about the futuristic synth work. Anyone down for a little space groove?
