Why do we like this?
Hey Champ have already had two solid releases in 2013 ("Cliché" and "Comet"), so it's no surprise that the track we get to premiere today is equally as awesome (if not better).
With "Celebrate," Saam Hagshenas and Jonathan Marks continue to forge the power/indie pop vibe they've established in prior releases, creating an upbeat and catchy song (heavy on the synths, of course). The net result reminds me of a slightly-more atmospheric Starfucker.
Still no word on whether the band is planning to release an EP or LP, but at the very least they're going on tour. If you live in NYC or SF, you'll be able to catch them as follows:
