"When we met we were two bright-eyed alcoholics."
Sometimes, all it takes is one lyric to connect with a song. For me, that lyric you just read was it on this new Henry Jamison jam titled, "Dallas Love Field."
The song is best described as a soft-rock narrative with strong vocals that are carried in-front on the mix. It's an acoustic performance supported by gentle sounds that's easy on the ears.
When some synths are added to the mix, they fit in perfectly. Tucked right under the vocal, so as not to compete or interfere with that same space, it allows the narrative to continue uninterrupted. In other words, the mix makes it seamless to actually keep your attention on.
It's a bit more mellow than I prefer for my everyday listens, but a good one to keep in the stash for a rainy day of brooding.
"C'mere baby, in the darkening hour
riding our bikes to the dive bar at the edge of town."
