Why do we like this?

Portland-based Henri Bardot doesn't do anything fancy with his new single "Make You Love Me," but I suppose that's sort of the point: you don't need to reinvent the wheel to stand out (though it certainly doesn't hurt).

"Make You Love Me" reminds me a lot of early Sufjan Stevens, back when things were raw and stripped down. The strings (courtesy of Rob Moose) and Henri's vocals couple beautifully to create an eerie but enjoyable single.

Keep your eyes peeled for Henri's upcoming sophomore LP, Blue Night. It'll be out May 10th.
