Why do we like this?
Late last year I discovered Heavenly Beat and took an immediate liking to his style of music. It's upbeat, slightly jazzy indie pop that I just can't get enough of. John Pena (of Beach Fossils) has taken the solo reigns and has once again resurfaced for the release of his latest album, Talent.

You can imagine my excitement when I found that Heavenly Beat just released Talent on July 24. This album has debuted at the perfect time of year. The warm weather and breezy attitude that defines what summer is all about is a keen representation of what Talent encapsulates.

This album is drenched in synthesizers of all sorts; sometimes they sound like an orchestra, sometimes it's a straight up dance party. The rest of the instrumentals play into this light and airy theme by adding a little jazz effect, some dance beat techniques and of course a breathy vocal tone. This is the quintessential feel-good summer album.

So far it seems like Heavenly Beat tends to lay low when it comes to playing live shows, but let's keep our fingers crossed that John Pena will venture out on the road. I bet the live show would be one big massive party.
