There's nothing like a little nostalgia to brighten up your day. For me, Purity Ring provides that better than anything else. It takes me to the beginning of the phase I never grew out of— my emo phase. Yeah, back when I would post MySpace bulletin trains, dye my hair jet-black, take angled selfies with my Motorola RAZR, and wear size 6 girl jeans.
I don't carry those same attributes these days, but there's still a lil' emo boy in my heart. About a week ago, when the Canadian duo performed "Repetition" live on Conan, I was reminded of the good ol' days. And foolishly, I thought that was all I'd get from them for a little while, but I was definitely wrong. They just released this fabulous remix of the Los Angeles band HEALTH, which shares the same avant-garde sound that made me fall in love with them.
