I've been posting a lot of heavy electronic music lately, complete with intense and overwhelming drops. So when "Seaside" by Haux landed in my inbox, it was a beautiful and much needed respite from the barrage of saturated production.
Gentle and haunting, Haux is the musical project of English singer/songwriter/producer Woodson Black. His sound is characterized by effectively creating a sense of space and capitalizing on minimalism, similar to RY X. The balmy piece of storytelling is complemented by harmonic guitars, celestial sighs, and poignant lyricism.
A compelling blend of dreamy folk influences and thoughtful electronic composition, "Seaside" feels like the acceptance that follows leaving something in the past. It floats by effortlessly, undulates through brainwaves and ends abruptly, leaving you wanting more.
This track will join "Caves" and "Homegrown" on his upcoming EP All We've Known, available July 8. Support his gorgeous music by purchasing here.
