Why do we like this?

This new shoegaze record comes from Dee Dee, of the Dum Dum Girls, and her husband Brandon Welchez, under the name Haunted Hearts. It immediately brings you in with the catchy grooves underneath the thick wall of guitar.

They claim they wrote the tunes in the winter of 2012 while holed up listening to Motown and Krautrock. Pretty awesome combination, I’d say.

“Johnny Jupiter" is the first single from the record. It leans more on the keyboard sounds than the other tunes that have lots of guitar, but still has that dream-pop vibe to it. "Initiation" comes out on May 29 -- be sure to grab it then!
