Why do we like this?
Melbourne music-box Harts is one of the more unique and refreshing artists Australia currently possesses. The youngster won plenty of admirers with his debut EP Offtime, a recording that showcased his diverse musical influences and sheer talent, with singles "All Too Real" and "The Music" already gracing our website.
The EP's title track, "Offtime," is yet another great addition to the Harts catalogue. His main talent is the way he settles on a groove and builds other elements of the song around it. The Prince comparisons won't let off either, since his electric vocals and shredding guitar riffs clearly lean toward his 80s inspiration (with more modern features added on).
While he's had plenty of radio play locally, he's also been spun on the UK's BBC6. He's got a sound that won't be limited to within the Australian borders, and he's only just starting to scratch the surface -- his potential is immense.
