Why do we like this?
Portland-based artist Harpool first crossed my path under the artist name "Hear The Taste." While he might have changed his performing name, the underlying sound the Portland-based one-man-band pulls off keeps a thread of similarity between each song.
His latest offering is "Circles," a jangly indie rock song that reminds me a lot of The Dodos and Here We Go Magic. I think that sticks out for me on this is the melodic progression: it's unique and slightly unpredictable. And therein lies a winner.
