Lyrically, this one speaks to not only my Monday, but also this whole pandemic situation. Hopefully at the end of it all, I am actually alive.
Hanni El Khatib, co-owner of Innovative Leisure, which is home to local favorites BADBADNOTGOOD and CLASSIXX, has an album due on May 15th. "Alive" being the second single off of El Khatib's Flight, was introduced to me by the brilliant Bill Brewster. If you're not already tuned into his podcast, DJ History, make some time for it.
Ready for the cherry on top? If you're a Tweety Bird fan, or have a disposition towards cats, the "Alive" music video features someone in a Sylvester outfit rolling violently down a lengthy set of stairs. Enjoy.
