Why do we like this?
We're always happy to find female talent producing some hard-hitting beats, and Hannah Wants, aka Hannah Alicia Smith, has been doing just that since a short stint at Ibiza in 2010. Since then, she's been wowing crowds and gaining quite a following, and is now considered one of the hottest talents in the UK.
Though primarily a DJ, she does dabble in production, amassing 30,000+ hits per track. Hannah apparently needs no introduction in her hometown of Birmingham, but she's not so well known state-side. I've been following her for some time, waiting for a track that wholeheartedly appeals to my senses, and "Girls" is just the right combo of spices.
Alongside producer Chris Lorenzo, Hannah has created a deep house-influenced, UK bass sound that's akin to Dirtybird patriots Justin Jay, Justin Martin, Breach and so on. To further prove that she can hang with the big-leagues, Hannah has played with the likes of Annie Mac, Disclosure, Justin Martin, Huxley, SBTRKT, Roska, XXXY... the list goes on!
