Half Alive gives our memories an emotional jolt with "Songs," a soft, melancholic, and caring track.
"Songs" feels like a puppy being held by a couple in a park—half alive and Jordana who caress and care for it as the afternoon goes on. When they are ready, the couple makes their decision and walks away from each other. And boy, does it hurt. And boy, is it beautiful.
"Songs" is a soft little masterpiece, reminiscent of the eccentricities of Cosmo Sheldrake and the tenderness of Keaton Henson.
"Songs" is both beautiful and painful.
